It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.

CHRISTMAS SEASON!!!!!!
I LOVE this time of the year. It's a time of happy spirits and thinking of others. I've been having so much fun buying things for others this year. It feels so good to give!!
I've also had fun crafting all sorts of things to add to our seasonal decor.
For example,
I made our Stockings, and our Tree skirt. I also made a wreath. :)

Our Christmas village was a present from my grandma for my Bridal Shower. She's always had one at her house while I was growing up, and I've always said that I get it when she dies. I much prefer getting one this way :)

'Tis the season to be jolly, Fa la la la la, la la la la!!!!!!

Where did we go....?

Sorry I haven't posted in so long! Our lives have been crazy!
Here are a few pics of what we've been up to in our spare time..

Making soda's explode in the freezer.

Breaking out the iron and ironing board for the first time.

Making yummy food.
These are Cinnamon Muffins with real Raspberries in them made from scratch. They were oh so yummy.
We've also made lots of yummy chicken, homemade chicken pot pie, Philly cheese steaks, and lots more! We like to cook...but mostly we like to eat. :)

I dyed my friends hair..the color of the dye was very alarming..but her hair turned out a very pretty red. :)
Although I did mess it up a little bit, I think it still turned out ok :)

Most importantly we've just continued being our crazy self's. Seriously, I'm always saying that if someone were to secretly film our life, they'd check us into an institution because we're nuts!
But I love us. :)

I love my husband!!

***WARNING*** May be too mushy for some to handle!
But...
I love my husband! I love him every day. He's just amazing.
But for some reason I love him extra today!
Idk why, he hasn't even woken up yet!

But, I woke up this morning, started getting ready for work and he's sleeping soundly on the bed and I just got this rush of emotion. I thought to myself...he's all mine!
I get to be with him for ETERNITY!! What a lucky girl I am!

He's so good to me. He just wants to make me happy...and he does. More then he'll ever know.

I love you Patrick!! :)

The end....
of this post.

Quotations

I've decided that every day for the next month, I am going to post a quotation that sums up what's been on my mind or what I've learned for that day.

Today's quote is:
“Be the change you want to see in the world.” -Gandhi

How simple? You can't expect something or someone to change without willing to do so yourself. We all need to do our best to be the best we can be. If we all do that then the world will be a much better place.

Time to Grow Up

I am slowly beginning to realize what people mean by "growing up".
According to dictionary.com the definition of to "grow up" is
"to be or become fully grown; attain mental or physical maturity."

I am fully grown physically, yes. But I am in no way fully grown up mentally. But then again, is anyone?
Any ways...my point is that being married makes you grow up a lot. You learn how to compromise with just about everything, you learn how to give up what you want in order to make others happy, you learn about how to choose what car to buy. Not just which one you want, but which one would be the smartest investment down the road and which one you can afford. You learn which car insurance to purchase. You learn how to look for a job. Again, not what job you WANT necessarily, but which job you can live with and that will be the smartest choice down the road.

I've learned a lot this past little while, and the previous list doesn't even begin to touch it.

In conclusion, I'm not really sure what the point of this post is. I guess it's just helping me learn that I really have grown and that I have much more to go. But I love it. I love life. I love being married. I love learning. I love growing. I love, love!

One job down, one to go!!

That's right. I got a job! I'm going to start working as an Eye Technician at Nationwide Vision on Sept. 13th. I'm so excited!!

As for Patrick, he's still looking hard for a job but will find one soon. I know he will. He's GREAT at what he does. Anyone want a massage? Call him. Extra money for what he loves to do and is great at is never a bad thing, and I'm sure he wouldn't mind.

San Diego Vacation!

We had been talking about going to California at either the end of Aug or beginning of Sept. Then, we got a wedding announcement in the mail for Patrick's last missionary companion. They were having a open house in Ocean Side this past weekend so that helped us decide which weekend we were going! The reception was beautiful and the couple seemed very happy.

To start our trip off, we saw this awesome vehicle in front of a random shop on our way out.
I mean look, IT HAS EYES!! lol

This is a picture of us...just in case you couldn't figure that out. This was the day that we went to Old town San Diego. We went to the Mormon Battalion and walked around all the shops.

While we were there a man was preforming playing some crazy instruments. All different types of ...mouth harps? I think they're called. Anyways, you just have to see it for yourselves..here a few videos of it. Unfortunately this stupid blogging website won't let me upload it :( So I'll try to upload it on facebook. Hopefully you can see it there.

Anyways...more about the rest of the trip! We spontaneously decided to go to the San Diego Zoo that afternoon. It was about 3pm when we got there. We thought it would only take us a few hours to see everything. NOPE! We were there until closing which is 9pm, and we didn't even see everything. When people say that that place is huge, they aren't kidding.
Here's some pics of some of the animals we saw.

I LOVE how this pic turned out...so funny.

Check out this birds "hair" he has a Mohawk goin on. Awesome. And to top it off..look at his name!!

And then a few of us....

In this pic we were on the "Skyfari" at the zoo. I look like I was totally fine...but I was a little freaked out. It was really high! But once I got used to it, I had tons of fun. If it wasn't closing time i would've been begging my hubby to do it a few more times :)

Getting hot and tired about half way through

At first he didn't really smile...but then he did for me. Isn't he handsome? <3

Finally, our trip was coming close to an end. On Sunday we went to go see the San Diego Temple (My personal favorite). It's so beautiful and I love the spirit that is felt there and at all of the temples.

We also went to the beach for a little bit, and went over to my cousin's house for a yummy dinner, games, and just to visit. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of either of these events. :(

But all in all our trip went perfectly. We LOVE California and never wanted to leave. Hopefully we don't go too long before we go back again. :)

O. O. Oreo!

I love oreos. And what makes oreos even better? Say it with me now...MILK! I love dunking oreos in milk until they get super soggy. But the problem is that in order to get the cookie to the right consistency, 2 things are almost guaranteed to happen.
1) Your fingers get all wet with milk.
2) Your cookie falls apart and falls to the bottom of the cup.

Well, I found a way to solve BOTH of the problems. Yup, BOTH of them. :D

I think that somebody actually told me about this trick, so I'm not going to take complete credit for it. But I still think it's genius. And might i add that the oreos were delicious? :)

My new favorite song...

I just wanted to take a second and blog about my current all time favorite song. The song is "Love Like Crazy" by Lee Brice. This song talks about a man who followed his dreams no matter what people said and benefited from it. When asked how he did it, this is his advice.

"Be a  best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I love you
Go to work, do your best, don't outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin' knees get lazy
And love like crazy."

Isn't that great? I love how simple these things are, and yet they are things that many of us take for granted. I know that I definitely need to work on these things.
Any ways, if you haven't heard this song, I highly suggest that you go listen to it right NOW. And if you HAVE heard it, I still suggest that you go listen to it. It gives me the chills every time. Love it!!

First Post!

I've always wanted to do a blog, and I even started one at one point. But, I never had the time or the motivation to actually keep up with it. Well, I figure that now that Patrick and I are married that'd be a good excuse to start one.
What have we been up to?
Well, Sunday will be our 1 month anniversary! I can't believe it's already been a month. It's gone by so fast. I love Patrick with all my heart and can't wait to spend many many many more months, years, decades (etc. etc.) with him.
Since we've been married and back from our honeymoon, we've both been working a lot. We've also been having fun buying stuff and making our apartment look more like a home. And when I say "we" I really do mean it. Sometimes I think that Patrick has more fun with it then I do! haha it's awesome. I think we make a great team. I have grand ideas about something, I tell him, and  he makes them practical and doable.
I'll post pictures of what we've done with it's a little more completed. :)
Until then, here's a picture of us the day we got the keys to the apartment.
